I have become a Chartered Linguist

The Chartered Institute of Linguists has approved my chartership.

The criteria are:

• At least two years' membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists

• At least five years in the profession of translator, working a minimum of 120 days a year

• Completing upwards of 40 hours’ continuous professional development a year

• A relevant postgradute qualification

No problems there then. My tally for 2023 will be nearly 250,000 words translated, and hundreds of pages of design documents converted.
