Subtitling and transcription
Auto-subtitling services are not to be trusted with your technical terminology or the accents of your non-native English-speaking colleagues. It pays dividends to invest in accurately transcribed and edited subtitles.
Working from a source video, audio file or SRT file, I can create a transcription and/or translation target SRT file using Adobe Première Pro. This must then be proof-read and edited before it is fit for use. I can also use my specialist iZotope RX software to clean up speech recordings, either to aid transcription or to improve intelligibility for broadcast purposes.
My specialism is West African French. Having spent five years in Dakar, I have encountered speakers from Senegal, Mali, Mauretania, Guinea, Togo, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Niger and DRC. In 2024 I have produced subtitles for a large training course for use in West Africa.
